Cloak & Dagger The Assassins' Guild

About The Assassins' Guild

The Cambridge University Assassins' Guild is a student run society which aims to engage players in a game of mock assassination across Cambridge in the spirit of fun and frivolity. It is in no way a society of actual assassins. (Apparently we have to clarify this...) Games are usually run for the duration of the Michaelmas and Lent terms, with a special May Week game following exams. There are also socials and other events throughout the year to encourage players to meet up for some fun and games without threat of impending death.

The Assassins' Game is a variety of the game known as Killer, which was at one point published in a book by Steve Jackson Games. The object of the game is to track down and eliminate the other players, while also staying alive yourself.
“Assassination” is carried out with a variety of harmless toys or fake weapons which range from pens labelled as ‘knife’ to water pistols and the popular Nerf weaponry.
Often people come up with more inventive and amusing ways to dispatch their targets.

To find out more, I suggest you read the reports of past games available in the archives, and read the current game rules. Alternatively there is an archaic list of frequently-asked questions and answers which may be enlightening as to the basics and technical side of the game, and a much more recent (2014) second FAQ which covers the culture and tactics of Assassins.

If you wish to be notified with details of games and events, please join the mailing list or email the Umpire to be added.
If you have any questions, please email and someone will be able to answer your query.

Mayweek 2015

The Mayweek game is over! The winner was Michael French, who will go down in history as the guy who shot people with NERF darts the best for this particular third-of-a-year. I think we can all agree what a high accolade this is.

Thanks for playing, everyone.

The Umpire for the past term is Curtis Reubens of St. Catharine's College, who can be contacted using the above Assassins' email address, but probably won't appreciate it vastly. Michael French will be umpiring Michaelmas 2015. Signups for Michaelmas 2015 are not yet open. When they are, it will be announced here, as well as emailed out to the mailing list.

The rules for this term's game are below:
